Ayurveda: Art of Living

The ancient “Art of Living” known as Ayurveda uses common laws of nature to determine your unique mind-body constitution and offers a comprehensive wellness plan including diet, lifestyle, meditation, and yoga to bring balance and understanding in your daily life.

Elemental Templates
The unique manifestation of physical, mental, and emotional qualities are created and governed by the Five Elements which form three subtle energies known as Vata (space and air), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (water and earth). In the physical body Vata is the principle of movement including breathing and sensory functions, Pitta is the principle of transformation, digesting both foods and ideas, and Kapha is the principle of support that allows physical structure and it’s lubrication.

“Like Increases Like...
but Opposites Balance”

Our personal constitution is a unique ratio of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. One of these three energies is usually predominate, creating a tendency to be attracted to objects of similar qualities. According to the natural law of “Like Attracts Like” this propensity is often what creates imbalance. While traditional medicine speaks of symptoms and disease, Ayurveda sees the qualities of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha manifesting and balances them by promoting their opposite qualities (i.e. hot to cold, oily to dry, slow to mobile, etc.).
